The Endicott Community Greenhouse was first organized in 1977 as Human Services of Dedham. It served to support the community by promoting healthy living choices while working in a horticultural environment. Its name was officially changed to the Endicott Community Greenhouse in 2014 to more accurately reflect its current mission.

Today, the Endicott Community Greenhouse is a small, non-profit, independent organization which provides horticultural, educational and recreational opportunities for all Dedham residents. It is an all volunteer organization whose main source of revenue is the growing and sales of plants. All net proceeds go towards maintaining the elementary schools' Plant Programs and scholarships to high school seniors embarking on a career in agriculture or environmental science.
